On behalf of BioShorts Publications, it is our pleasure to invite you to the BioShorts 2026 International Conference on Ecology, Conservation, and Biodiversity, taking place over 2 days in Málaga, Spain. Málaga, one of the oldest cities in Europe, is known for its Mediterranean coastline, rich cultural history, and vibrant scientific community. Today it stands as a growing hub for environmental research, with diverse habitats ranging from coastal systems to mountain reserves.
This conference follows the success of the BioShorts 2025 Conference on Ecology, Conservation, and Biodiversity held in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. Across the two days, the 2026 conference will serve as a hub for ideas across ecology, promoting cross-discipline discussion, knowledge sharing, and collaborative learning. Sessions will bring together work from across the ecological and environmental sciences, including conservation biology, environmental management, biodiversity monitoring, behavioural ecology, plant and animal ecology, ecosystem restoration, marine and freshwater ecology, population and community ecology, climate adaptation research, landscape and habitat assessment, and more!
A central aim of the conference is to bring together both academia and industry, including researchers, consultants, policy professionals, and industry specialists. By creating a shared space for discussion, we aim to encourage the exchange of ideas across applied and academic ecology and to support the development of relationships between sectors. The programme will feature invited talks from established researchers, presentations from early-career scientists, themed discussion sessions, poster presentation sessions, and dedicated opportunities to network with potential future collaborators and employers.
BioShorts Publications remains committed to supporting early-career researchers. We strongly encourage students, recent graduates, and emerging professionals to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations and to take part in a meeting designed to help develop their work, build confidence, and meet others in the field.
