Building on the success of our inaugural issue, BioShorts remains committed to transforming outstanding undergraduate and Master's dissertations into concise, high-quality publications. As we enter 2025, Issue 2 will showcase another year of compelling research, reinforcing our core philosophy that excellent student work deserves recognition and can make a meaningful contribution to scientific discourse. By refining dissertation research into focused manuscripts, we aim to bridge the gap between early-career researchers and academic publishing.

As part of our continued efforts to support emerging scientists, we are excited to announce the first annual BioShorts Conference, set for November 2025. This event will provide a platform for BioShorts authors to present their published work, alongside contributions from keynote speakers, PhD students, senior academics, and other researchers in the field. The conference will foster discussion, encourage collaboration, and celebrate the achievements of researchers. More details, including the call for abstracts, scheduling, and speaker opportunities, will be shared in the coming months.

With the launch of Issue 2 and our upcoming conference, BioShorts continues to grow as a dedicated platform for early-career researchers to share their work with the wider scientific community. We look forward to another year of insightful contributions, meaningful discussions, and expanding connections.
